What is SNAP?

SNAP 2020 Registration has been started by Symbiosis International University (SIU). The registration procedure started from 23rd September 2020 and the last date to register for the exam is 28th November 2020.

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test also abbreviated as S.N.A.P is a national level examination which is conducted every year. The mentioned exam is the; gateway for the students aspiring to take admissions in programs like MBA / MSc (CA) / MSc (SS). The exam is conducted by Symbiosis International Deemed University (SIU) which is responsible for taking all the decisions regarding the examination and releasing the notifications. All the information is updated time to time on the official website of S.N.A.P i.e. snaptest.org.

More about SNAP

  • S.N.A.P is conducted at the end of every year for filling the seats available under various programs in the 15 colleges affiliated to SIU and spread across the nation.
  • It is mandatory to score the qualifying marks in the S.N.A.P for taking admissions in the above-mentioned programs in the respective colleges of the Symbiosis group.
  • Now the question arises, who all are eligible for the exam?
  • The eligibility for S.N.A.P exam is as same as the other MBA entrance examinations:
  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks and in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates, a relaxation of 5% is provided i.e. the candidate of the reserved category should have a minimum of 45 percent aggregate marks at the graduation level.
  • The registration process starts with visiting the official website of S.N.A.P.
  • During the registration process, the candidates are required to provide all the required details and the details filled in by them must be authentic and correct as any incorrect detail may lead to cancelation of their candidature.
  • Unlike other qualifying examinations of the country, the application fee for S.N.A.P Exam is slightly different, the candidates need to pay registration fee separately for S.N.A.P.

  • The application procedure for appearing to S.N.A.P Exam must be completed online by visiting the official website of Symbiosis International University.
  • The candidates must follow the instructions written online and get themselves registered for further process of application.
  • The registration window opened on 23 September 2020 on the official website i.e. snaptest.org and will remain open till 28 November 2020. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on on three different dates i.e. 20 December 2020, 6 January 2021, and 9 January 2021.
  • The registration process is divided in two steps i.e. Registration for SNAP Test and Registration for Programs.
  • Visit the official website of S.N.A.P.
  • Register by clicking on ‘New Registration Window’.
  • After registration confirm the user id and password sent on Email id and Mobile no.
  • Login with the given id and password and start filing the application form.
  • Candidates must process the payment of INR 1750 along with 18% GST as application fee.

SNAP Eligibility Criteria

  • For admission to the 15 institutes affiliated by SIU, the candidates must qualify SNAP Examination. Candidates seeking admission must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the university.
  • There are basic education qualification required by the university in order to process admission to the various courses.

Academic Qualification:

  • Candidates seeking admission must possess a bachelor’s degree in any field securing at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
  • Candidates belonging to the reserved categories must possess at least 45% marks in aggregate to become eligible for admission.
  • Candidates in the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for SNAP Exam provided they must obtain at least 50% marks in aggregate at the end of their graduation.
  • NOTE* Candidates’ candidature will be canceled if they do not fulfill the selection criteria.
  • Foreign candidates can also apply for taking the examination.
  • It is important for them to hold a qualifying degree from a recognized university and they are required to generate an equivalent certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

SNAP Exam Pattern

  • SNAP Exam is a Computer Based Test conducting online where in the questions are of two types namely Multiple-Choice Questions and Fill in the Blanks.
  • It used to be a pen paper-based test before 2017 but was later changed to computer based one.
  • There are total 115 number of questions which are divided among the above mentioned two categories.

Marking Scheme

  • The students are rewarded with +1 mark for each correct MCQ and +2 for each correct MCQ. The exam follows negative marking scheme wherein one fourth mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Following are the sections in which the question paper is divided:
  • General English- Reading Comprehension, Vernal Reasoning, Verbal Ability
  • Quantitative, Data Interpretation, and Data Sufficiency
  • Analytical & Logical Reasoning
  • Current Affairs
  • These four sections contribute to a total number of 115 questions.

SNAP Syllabus

  • Since the minimum educational qualification required to appear in the examination is graduation, the question paper consists of the questions of graduation.
  • It is designed to analyze candidates’ general aptitude.
  • The entire syllabus of SNAP Exam is divided in 4 segments namely General English, Quantitative Data, Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, Current Affairs, and Reasoning.
  • Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation- Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry, Number System, Modern Mathematics, Graphs and Charts, and Venn Diagrams.
  • Analytical & Logical Reasoning- Critical Reasoning, Arrangements, Puzzles, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Coding & Decoding, Sequences & Series.
  • General English- Reading Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks, Para Jumbles, Sentence Correction, Odd one out, Vocabulary Based, Idioms, Synonyms & Antonyms.
  • Current Affairs- Business & Economics, Awards & Records, Science & Environment, History & Geography, International Organizations, Social Issues, Politics & Sports.

SNAP Results

  • Declaration of result will be taking place during the last week of January 2021.
  • Students will be provided with a scorecard that would contain marks and percentile obtained by the candidates in SNAP 2020 Exam.
  • Marks obtained by the candidates would result in preparing the cutoff list.
  • The cut off list is released by SIU after the declaration of result.

  • Click on SNAP score card 2020 available on the home page.
  • Enter the user id and password.
  • The page of scorecard will appear on the screen.

Brief Description of SNAP

  • All the process of examination is online and after the successful completion of the registration, process candidate will be able to download their respective admit cards from the official website on the scheduled dates mentioned by the conducting body.
  • The final examination will be conducted online in various test centers located in 92 major cities of the country.
  • It is important to know that the examination center will be allocated on basis of the preferences made by the candidate while filling the application form.
  • After the completion of the examination, the answer sheets will be evaluated, and the qualified students will have to attend the GE-PIWAT to confirm their seat.
  • The process is conducted by each of the constituent institutes individually.
  • The GE-PIWAT is a detailed selection process which includes
  • Group Exercise (GE)
  • Personal Interaction (PI) and
  • Writing Ability Test (WAT)
  • The selected students will be allotted a seat in a respective college and stream based on their performance in the mentioned stages of the SNAP Test.
