N.M.A.T by GMAC is a national-level MBA entrance exam for admission to renowned management colleges such as Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Alliance University, SRM University, BML Munjal University, VIT University, ICFAI Business School (IBS) and Ansal University.

A computer-based test, N.M.A.T by GMAC is conducted by Pearson VUE at 35 locations across India, and the aspirants have the right to choose their own exam venue/date/time as per convenience.

Candidates are allowed three retakes (reattempts) of the exam. The best of the three scores are considered for admission. The candidates can choose to select up to 7 schools/ colleges to send their scores for admission for free. Up to 7 institutes/programmed are included in N.M.A.T by GMAC registration fees.

N.M.A.T was acquired by GMAC in March 2015 from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS)

N.M.A.T by GMAC is probably the first exam that has the exam conducting body offering the test-takers the facility to finance their MBA degree.

Ques. When will the admission session begin for NMAT in the coming year?

ANS- The admission window will be open from 1st week of October to 2nd week of December. Further changes will be notified by GMAC at its official website.

Ques. Which college(s) or Universities(s) accept NMAT scores for admission?

ANS- There are a number of colleges and universities that accept N.M.A.T scores. The names are listed as follows-

Ques. What is the revised paper pattern for NMAT 2021?

ANS- N.M.A.T is divided into 3 sections namely Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. Each section is timed according to the questions asked and the candidates need to answer questions of each section within the allotted time.

Ques. What is the procedure to recheck or review the completed section?

ANS- A candidate has the liberty to review the section which they have in hand on the allotted time limit only. A candidate can recheck and change their answer in the given time. If he manages to complete the section before the time limit gets over, they can as well review it.

Once a test taker has moved ahead from one section to the next section, then they will not be able to return to the previous section so it is advised that the candidate must complete the test and review it properly in the allotted time period only

Ques. What are the ID proofs that are accepted at the test centers and the ones which the candidates will not be allowed to be brought?

ANS- You need to carry the below documents at the exam hall:

  • Confirmation email printout.
  • Admit Card: Candidates are required to download their N.M.A.T Admit Card from their account.
  • One photocopy of the Photo ID for submission at the test center.
  • Any other document as advised by the authorities for differently able candidates.
  • Passport
  • PAN Card
  • Voter’s ID Card
  • UID/Aadhar Card
  • Debit/Credit Card
  • Driver’s License

Ques. What is a 75-Day window to test?

Ans. 75-day window helps Candidates reduces the stress associated with a single sitting test or test offered in a short time window.

The longer test window helps a candidate to take the test when they are best prepared and avoid any mishaps as well as to provide the candidate to reschedule the test in case of an emergency.

The longer window also provides the test taker with the opportunity to retake the test (maximum 3 attempts, including “No Show”) in case they feel that their performance was not up to the mark or for any reason or if they feel they can improve their performance in retake attempt.

Ques. Is there any specific Eligibility Criteria for candidates to sit for NMAT?

ANS- No, there are no specifications but different colleges and universities do have their individual norms and regulations. Candidates are advised to visit the website of the college or university in order to be through the criteria.

Ans. A candidate can take the test for a maximum 3 times.

Ques. When will GMAC declare the window-wise results for NMAT?

Ans. Within 4 to 6 weeks of the test taken.

Ques. In NMAT, what is meant by scaled scores and percentile scores?

Ans. Scaled scores – it is when the test forms are equated to account for any differences in overall difficulty and the raw test scores are placed on a common scale.

Percentile scores – The percentile rank or score shows a comparison drawn between the candidate’s scores with all other candidates who took the exam.
