MBA Admission

MBA admission requires long-term planning. First of all, one needs to decide which career to opt for. Thereafter comes the choice of management course, and then the choice of MBA college. This decision requires extensive research about each MBA college and courses that it offers. Other important factors that one needs to keep in mind are government recognition, eligibility criteria, admission process, tuition fee, hostel facility, pedagogy, infrastructure, placements, etc. Shortlisting of institutes for an MBA/PGDM program must be based on these aspects. Once, the list is ready, the next step is to find out their MBA admission process and selection criteria. Many MBA colleges accept candidates on the basis of common entrance exam scores while some select candidates on the basis of Graduation score. MBA admission is majorly based on the entrance exam, group discussion (GD), and personal interview (PI).

MBA Admission 2020 Dates

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) had extended the last date of MBA admission from July 31 to August 10. The last date of seat cancellation and fee refund was extended to August 5. The AICTE has also extended the late date of admission against vacancies from August 31 to September 15. However, many MBA colleges are still inviting applications and conducting admissions online. Classes at top MBA colleges such as IIMs, IIFT, FMS, etc have started for the 2020 batch.

The AICTE has issued a notice asking the colleges to not wait for the conduction of entrance exams and admit students on merit basis. The decision has been made keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation in the country because of which many state level entrance exams have been deferred indefinitely.
